Meet Dr. Murphy (Retired)

It was in grade school when I decided to pursue a dental career. I moved to Racine during my high school years and took all the required science courses at St. Catherine‘s and then went on to UW-Racine and Dominican College. I received my dental degree from Marquette University School of Dentistry and began my practice on State Street (above the now gone Erickson’s Drug Store). In 1967 I joined Ron Lamberton and began Spring Dental Group and in 1977 we moved into our present office. My dental education is ongoing as new products and procedures evolve each year. This continuing challenge and the many people I have met and served over the years make me glad I found this profession.

I am married to Kathy and we have two adult daughters and two terrific grandchildren. (Just ask about pictures.)

Out of the office hours find me involved with dental issues, serving on several dental committees and task forces for the Racine and Wisconsin Dental Association and the American Dental Association including chairing the Legislative Committee for the WDA and District Trustee to the WDA Board of Trustees. In 2006 I was given the WDA Pyramid of Pride Award for Dental Political actions. Locally, I volunteer at Racines Healthcare Network. My memberships include the American Dental AssociationAmerican College of DentistsWisconsin Dental Association, Racine County Dental Society, and am a Fellow of dental honor organizations, the Pierre Fauchard Academy and the International College of Dentists.

In summary, I enjoy working with my partners, staff, friends and patients at Spring Dental Group. They have all helped create a fun, positive, environment where we can provide high quality dental care for patients of all ages.
